
2015 Commissioner's Challenge: special operations field competition
On March 20th, the Special Operations Unit of the Division of Operations & Compliance hosted to the Second Annual Special Operations Commissioner's Challenge at the Georgia Diagnostic & Classification State Prison in Jackson, Georgia. Held as a competition among the Department of Juvenile Justice SERT, SMRT, and HITS Teams, the training was a combination of leadership skills and physical challenges in the obstacle course and competitive Tug-Of-War.
THE BATTLE FOR THE COMMISSIONER AVERY D. NILES TROPHY
The SERT, SMRT, and HITS Teams competed for the Commissioner's Trophy, a silver engraved platter, which is showcased in the Commissioner's Suite at the Department of Juvenile Justice's Central Office. The trophy is a symbol of the excellence in our elite Special Operations teams statewide.

3rd Place: SMRT One
Leadership Winner: SMRT One
Obstacle Course Winner: SMRT Two
Tug of War Winner: Milan
